Who can call The Domestic Abuse Counselling Service?

  • Women who have experienced past or present domestic abuse.
  • Women who have witnessed abuse as a child and find the experience has impacted on their adult intimate relationships.
  • Male victims of domestic abuse.
  • Same sex relationships.
  • Professionals supporting women and children experiencing past or present domestic abuse.

What number your friend should use

  • Domestic Abuse Counselling Service main office number is 0845 0044075  (please note that this number will be shown on an itemised bill)
  • The telephone line is managed from 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday

When you call

  • DACS will arrange an appointment for your friend to be seen by an experienced qualified counsellor who will assess their needs.  This will be at one of their offices most convenient for your friend.
  • If your friend has to leave a message please ask them to tell DACS a safe number to contact them on.
  • After assessment they will be assigned their own personal counsellor for an initial 12 weeks of therapy which can be extended, based on your friend's needs.
  • DACS counsellors are fully trained in all issues of domestic abuse and will listen to your friend with respect and without judgment helping them towards decisions that are right for them.
  • DACS counsellors are experienced in all issues of domestic abuse and are trained to respond if your friend wishes to leave their relationship or have other related issues. We can refer your friend with our supported assistance to other helping agencies.
  • DACS main office is in Nuneaton.  They have outreach offices in Rugby, Leamington Spa and Stratford upon Avon.
